Somatic Experiencing® and Yoga Therapy for chronic pain, stress and trauma
Hi, I’m Richelle.
I’m a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Certified Yoga Therapist (IAYT), and Pain Reprocessing Therapy Practitioner. I specialise in supporting the physical and physiological effects of trauma, chronic pain, and stress-related conditions through a body-oriented, nervous system-focused approach.
I offer 1:1 sessions online for clients worldwide, helping people reconnect with their body, build nervous system capacity, and experience lasting shifts beyond temporary symptom relief.
My approach
My work is grounded in a simple but powerful understanding:
Your symptoms are not a failure, they are your nervous system trying to protect you.
Rather than focusing only on thoughts or behaviours, I work with the body and nervous system — where patterns of stress, trauma, and pain are often held.
Through somatic (body-based) practices, I support you to:
gently release stored survival stress
build capacity to stay present
and begin to feel safer in your body
This work is collaborative, paced, and deeply respectful of your system.
My story
My path into this work is both professional and deeply personal.
I was raised by a single mother and experienced significant early life adversity, including living below the poverty line, exposure to domestic violence, parental addiction, and the sudden loss of both of my parents. I have also navigated my own experiences with anxiety, depression, grief, and a near-death experience.
For many years, I felt disconnected from my body.
It was through yoga and other mind-body practices that I began to reconnect and heal from the lasting effects of these experiences.
This journey continues to shape the way I work through a lens of compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for the body’s capacity to heal.
A final note
No matter what you’ve been through, there is a way back to feeling more connected, more present, and more at ease in your body.
It would be an honour to support you on your pathway to possibilities.
